Nov. 21–The Rosedale Food Pantry received an $82,000 grant in February to purchase a Ford F-650 box truck from Allegheny Ford Truck Sales Inc. The truck will replace an older truck the nonprofit has used since 1998, said Rosedale Food Pantry board member Tony Pampena.
The grant came from Allegheny Foundation and through a partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, which also contributed funds for a new walk-in freezer and other equipment.
“We’re greatly thankful and appreciative,” Pampena said.
He said the new equipment will enhance the already successful Rosedale Food Pantry operating weekly out of All Saints Episcopal Church in Verona.
