July 19–Defensive end Khalil Mack has a new team: Mack Trucks.
The Oakland Raiders standout announced Wednesday on Twitter that he has partnered with Mack Trucks to help promote the company’s new highway truck that will debut Sept. 13.
According to ESPN, the details of the endorsement deal have not been disclosed.
In the video also posted to Mack Trucks’ YouTube channel, the idea originated from Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
“I got a text from Draymond Green, out of the blue one day. And he was like ‘Lil bro, you gotta be trying to partner with Mack,'” the 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year said.
The video shows Mack, a former Fort Pierce Westwood High School standout, touring the new Mack truck with John Walsh, the company’s vice president of marketing.
“Mack, meet Mack,” Walsh said.
Mack explained that his father used to point out Mack trucks driving down the road.
“Ever since I was a kid, just hearing my dad talk about Mack trucks,” Mack said. “It always stood out to us and it made us feel like we were connected to something, something important, something that’s bigger than ourselves.”
As part of the ad campaign, Mack Trucks is promoting #NewMack on social media.
