June 12–ELKHART — StateWide Windows of Elkhart and their parent company Truck Accessories Group (TAG) (home of LEER Truck Caps) are offering students at home for the summer an opportunity to gain valuable experience in manufacturing by offering a number of positions.
College students looking for a summer job have many options in northwest Indiana, where the unemployment rate has dipped below two percent, giving them a choice of where they earn both experience and much needed funds for the coming school year.
StateWide Windows and LEER are encouraging these students to make that employment choice with them by offering competitive wages and other incentives, along with a family-friendly atmosphere and experience working in the RV industry, which forecasts a number of job opportunities for college graduates in the coming years, as well as work in the horse trailer window and truck cap markets. Both companies pride themselves on strong employee values and a shared company mission statement of being a “great place to work, learn and grow.”
“In the highly competitive employment environment of Elkhart County Indiana, our company stands out with exceptional employee retention rates and future growth opportunities,” said StateWide Director of Operations Doug Eberlein. “We’ve maintained a loyal group of team members and achieved a retention rate of over 80 percent of our employees having been with the company for more than three years.”
“LEER is the most widely recognized brand name in the truck cap industry and the number-one selling brand of pickup truck covers and tonneaus, so having our name on a resume is a huge plus for a college student looking for work after graduation,” said Corporate Director of Human Resources for Truck Accessories Group, Barry Kosek. “We’d also love to give students the chance to work and learn at one of our plants and have them come back every summer with the hope of eventually making LEER or StateWide their first job out of college.”
Those employment opportunities aren’t limited to men, either, as StateWide’s workforce is comprised of 70 percent women. The work at StateWide consists of mostly light assembly positions, with heavier manufacturing duties at truck cap maker TAG/LEER. Each offers different “learning and earning” opportunities for those interested in gaining experience in manufacturing processes.
StateWide and Truck Accessories Group ar now hiring full and part time with no experience necessary, $12/ hour starting pay, Monday through Friday day time hours.
If a candidate continues employment after graduation, he or she will have a 401K that matches 60 cents on the dollar, 10 paid holidays, vacation pay, and sick time plus signing and referral bonuses and raises within 30 and 90 days
