Dec. 20–Houston landlords are locking in leases at a fast clip to fill their office buildings as 2018 comes to a close.
At least six sizable office deals have been announced so far in December, spanning a range of locations, from downtown to the Energy Corridor to Uptown to The Woodlands.
In the biggest transaction, McDermott International leased the 524,000-square-foot Energy Center Five building at 915 N. Eldridge Parkway. The company will consolidate five of its 10 leased locations in Houston to the 18-story building, which has never been occupied.
The deal follows the lease-up of another vacant new building in the Energy Corridor a couple of months ago. Offshore driller Transocean plans to move into the 300,000-square-foot Enclave Place. The 11-story building was completed in 2015.
In Upper Kirby, near River Oaks, cloud software company PROS Holdings leased several floors at 3200 Kirby for a new headquarters. The 118,000-square-foot deal brings the office space at Kirby Collection to full occupancy.
