Nov. 07–Approval of a ban on indoor vaping enshrined in Florida’sConstitution was succeeding Tuesday with about 75 percent of votes reported statewide.
The amendment is meant to treat vaping the same way the law treats smoking of tobacco cigarettes. Vaping would be allowed in homes, bars and hotel rooms that permit it.
A ban on oil drilling off the coast of Florida was coupled with the vaping ban in what was dubbed the “Environmental Amendment.” In 2002, Florida citizens voted for a constitutional ban on indoor tobacco smoking.
