Sept. 26–Austin-based oil and gas company Parsley Energy has announced its new head of operations, filling a position left vacant during a leadership change.
David Dell’Osso will become the new chief operations officer after Matt Gallagher was promoted from the position to become Parsley’s president. Dell’Osso, who comes from the Southwestern Energy Company, a natural gas exploration and production company, will assume the role on Oct. 9.
The leadership shifts happened after it was announced in Jan. that Chairman and CEO Bryan Sheffield would be succeeded by Gallagher in Jan. 2019. Sheffield will become the executive chairman of Parsley in January, when Gallagher will assume the role of CEO.
Parsley operates on 210,000 acres in the Permian Basin of West Texas, with the majority of its acreage focused in the Midland Basin, a subset of the Permian. The company has a market capitalization of nearly $10 billion, according to a second quarter 2018 presentation.
