Sept. 08–The Permian Basin is down two rigs this week for a total of 484. Midland and Reeves counties gained rigs, one and two, respectively, according to oil field services company Baker Hughes. Midland County has 59, and Reeves, which still leads the Permian, has 76.
Texas’ total is stuck at 528, and New Mexico lost two rigs for a total of 100. The U.S. total is unchanged at 1,048.
Other double-digit totals in the Permian are: Lea, 54, up three; Eddy, 41, down five; Martin, 34, down one; Loving, 32, up two; Howard, 28, unchanged; Upton, 23, down one; Ward, 22, unchanged; Reagan, 20, up one; Pecos, 18, down three; Culberson, 16, up one; and Winkler, 15, down three.
