June 08–Dozens of local big rigs and antique vehicles will roll into Mason City June 17 for the Convoy For Kids Truck Show at Memorial Park.
The annual benefit for St. Jude is celebrating its 10th year in Logan County.
This year, the public is invited to enjoy the first fireworks show hosted in Mason City in over 25 years to close out the Saturday evening festivities. The show is free and sponsored by local trucking companies Mason County Transfer, Hull Trucking and the Midwest Trucker Association.
Attendees can cast votes for a penny to decide which vehicle will be named the Convoy for Kids favorite truck of the year. All proceeds go to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The event will include family-friendly activities starting at 11 a.m., including bounce houses, free swim passes, adult tricycle racing and chainsaw carving. A military and first responder tribute will be held at noon. A silent auction and various raffles are schedule to take place throughout the afternoon and the Convoy Parade will make its way through Mason City at 5 p.m.
In the evening, entertainment will be provided by Proving Ground Pro Wrestling. Craft and food vendors will also be on-sight. The park is located at 107 West Court Street in Mason City.
