March 27–One man was stabbed during a fight Monday afternoon at Baltimore County’s landfill in Cockeysville, county police said.
The fight began shortly after 2 p.m. when a crew in a truck from one commercial hauling company accused the crew in a truck from another commercial hauling company of cutting them off while entering the landfill at 10275 Beaver Dam Road, according to Officer Jennifer Peach, a county police spokeswoman.
The argument turned physical when a man from one truck punched a man from the other truck. The partner of the man who was punched jumped into the fight, and the fight soon broke up, Peach said.
But then the man who had delivered the punch got a knife from his truck and stabbed the man he had punched, Peach said.
The incident was captured on surveillance video from the landfill, police said.
Police charged Christopher Maurice Johnson, 35, with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and use of a dangerous weapon while committing a crime. He’s being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
County police listed Johnson’s address as the 800 block of N. Aisquith Street in Baltimore’s Oldtown neighborhood, while online court records list his address as the unit block of Aven Way in Nottingham. No attorney was listed in court records.
The man who was punched and stabbed was taken by ambulance to Sinai Hospital’s trauma center with injuries that are believed not to be life-threatening, Peach said.
